Atlanta Chinese Dance Company will return to the Infinite Energy Theater in Duluth, Ga. for two spectacular shows on March 31. The critically-acclaimed dance company will perform “Travels Around China: Circles of Love and Departure” on Saturday, March 31 at 2:00 in the afternoon and an evening show at 7:30 p.m. The dazzling show is a must-see for dance and arts enthusiasts.

Founded in 1991, the Atlanta Chinese Dance Company explores Chinese culture and history through the fascinating art of Chinese dance. They notably represented Atlanta in the opening and closing ceremonies at the 1996 Olympic Games. They have also performed the “Chinese variation” in John McFall’s version of “The Nutcracker” for the Atlanta Ballet.

“Travels Around China: Circles of Love and Departure” leads the audience on a journey of each of China’s geographic regions with spellbinding, colorful dances. The story unfolds as a mini dance drama in which a Japanese orphan is abandoned in a Chinese Village in the wake of World War II. Despite bad blood between China and Japan, a Chinese mother chooses to love and raise the child of an enemy as one of her own. New York guest artist Tony Lia will perform “bian lian” or “face-changing” from Sichuan opera.
